Options

As well as the standard content management tools, SimpleContent provides the ability to extend functionality with optional modules which can be used to manage such things as product lists, newsletters, or membership databases.

Available modules
  • Standard – Includes all the content tools needed to create and manage a SimpleContent website, including formatted text, simple picture and sitemap content types.
  • Picture pack –  Includes extra content types, such as a picture item with greater control over uploaded file size, watermarks, thumbnail links etc., and picture galleries.
  • Newsletters  – Allows you to compose and distribute multiple email newsletters, automatically saving them to an archive which can, if required, be displayed as a content item within the site. Each newsletter can be sent to a different list of subscribers. Can also be used to produce blogs.
  • Membership – Extends the standard module to allow for members of the organisation to update their own pages, while the main site is only updateable by admin staff. Members pages can be categorised and searched. Simply placing a Members List component on a page is all that is needed to use this powerful module. Contains an event management tool that allows members to add their own events for display elsewhere on the site. Also contains tools for managing the members’ information.
  • Multilanguage – For use where content has to be available in multiple languages. Each content item can be assigned a language allowing, for instance, the page content to be written in English, French and German. SimpleContent will then show the correct item depending either on the language set in the user’s browser, or a selection made on the site.
  • Product Lists – For use where it is necessary to show categorised lists of products without resorting to a complete shopping cart or ecommerce system. A configurable product list can be added to a page as a content item, optionally containing links to an automatically generated page containing the full product information.
  • Basic Forms  – Includes a selection of standard forms, including contact and enquiry forms, with the ability to email the data to a specified address, save to a file, or save to a database. These forms are added as content items and can be configured through the admin system.
  • Forms & Functionality – Builds upon the basic forms option above to allow custom forms to be specified. Also includes the ability to develop new forms functionality or link to any ASP.NET Web User Controls.
